We went from BLAH to BAM! :)
We had professional landscapers do major transformations to the house, along with digging and installing and burying drainage systems on each side of the house.
Boxwoods now line the front sidewalk.
And Boxwoods and perennials dress the front beds.
American Holly tree on side of house - cleaned up pebble zone mess and created more of a mulch bed there. Will soon plant ground coverings there.

There is green everywhere and green is my favorite color.
AFTERS to come .....
Our first home! A 101 year old fixer-upper. She is going to be beautiful with major effort. We want to update her while keeping her somewhat authentic. My first blog ever to track our experience and her under-going renovation and rehabilitation to be our loving home and wonderful sanctuary to share with family and friends.

DIY BackYard Gardening
The poor back yard has been so neglected.
Weeds everywhere, seedling trees deeply rooted, crazy ivy ..... it is almost un-manageable except for professional assistance, but I am trying!
My new favorite tools are the AXE, the saw, and the hedge clippers!
I used some of the old bricks from the rebuilt carport column job and placed them around one of the beds. I guess it looks alright for now. I really really want to put in a brick patio and level out the bumpy ditchy back yard. Need to win the lottery. :)
These pics to follow are after hours and hours of pulling ivy and weeds and trying to dig my own bed. Notice the chopped trees. Yes, I chopped those down with the axe. Not close to finished, but better.
